The Cake Bake & Sweets Show is Australia’s ultimate foodie celebration, a three day live event devoted to the world of baking and the art of cake decorating. We’re seeking a passionate, digital-savvy, creative and results-driven individual with strong attention to detail to join our Melbourne based team.

The Role

In this role, the Marketing Manager will be required to develop and execute integrated and multi-channel marketing plans to increase attendance to our live events and grow and engage online communities across our social media platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Create audience generation and engagement strategies and campaigns to increase engagement and registrations within key industry categories
  • Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional team members to brainstorm, plan, and develop new ideas and strategies
  • Define comprehensive marketing performance framework, including creative reviews, tracking, and optimization of results
  • Work with sales and sponsorship teams to develop marketing programs and tactics that increase visibility of the events and associated opportunities
  • Craft marketing collateral working closely with the Exhibition Director and external creative and design teams
  • Grow relationships with industry partners to increase audience through co-marketing and cross-promotion opportunities
  • Write adaptable and digital friendly content that address the audience with brand’s key messaging
  • Check accuracy, integrity and performance of content across the various platforms before publishing, and ensure maintaining a high quality.  
  • Create and manage our digital communications calendar across multiple digital channels
  • Manage social media posting following the content plan.
  • Manage social communities including monitoring and engaging new audiences
  • Manage and report insights and analytics for all digital and social platforms
  • Be responsible for sending weekly newsletters and exhibitor/visitor email marketing campaigns
  • Develop an in depth understanding of the industry to ensure content for email campaigns is engaging and relevant to the target audience.
  • Work with the creative team and create quality content across all paid and organic digital channels  
  • Regular reporting of all activities under your portfolio
  • Skills in advanced re-marketing strategies


  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in marketing industry
  • Event industry experience an advantage
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to develop content for diverse audience segments
  • Experience in executing complex content calendar, with a strong creative/visual flair for content and brand strategy
  • Work collaboratively with overseas design and digital teams and other stakeholders
  • Experience across all social channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)
  • Experience in Google Adwords and Facebook Ads
  • Experience in email marketing platforms (Mailchimp)
  • Graphic design skills (Adobe Photoshop And Illustrator knowledge will be favoured but not mandatory)
  • Knowledge in Facebook Business Manager and working with Pixels
  • Experience in conversion base marketing campaign
